Welcome to Ejom. These guidelines define what's expected from vendors selling on our platform. By becoming a vendor, you agree to follow these rules in addition to our general Terms of Service.
1. Eligibility
To sell on Ejom, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be based in an African country
- Sell products that are made in Africa
- Complete our vendor verification (KYC) process
- Provide accurate business and tax information
2. What You Can Sell
Ejom is a curated marketplace for authentic African-made products. Acceptable categories include:
- Fashion and apparel (Ankara, Kente, traditional wear, modern fashion)
- Jewelry and accessories
- Beauty and skincare
- Home and living goods
- Art and crafts
- Food and beverages (non-perishable, with proper packaging)
3. What You Cannot Sell
- Counterfeit or replica goods
- Stolen goods
- Illegal substances or weapons
- Hazardous materials
- Animal products from endangered species
- Products that infringe on trademarks or copyrights
- Adult content or services
- Mass-produced items not made in Africa
Ejom reserves the right to remove any listing at our discretion.
4. Vendor Plans and Fees
Individual Vendor (no subscription)
- No monthly fee
- Ejom takes a 14% commission on each sale
- No withdrawal fee
- Ideal for vendors starting out or selling occasionally
Registered Business (subscription)
- Monthly fee of approximately $19 (GHS 210), billed via Paystack
- 0% commission on sales — you keep 100% of the sale price
- 1.5% fee on withdrawals
- Ideal for established businesses and high-volume sellers
5. Product Listings
Every listing must include:
- An accurate product title
- A detailed description of materials, dimensions, and use
- High-quality photos on a clean background (minimum 3 images recommended)
- Accurate pricing in your local currency
- Correct stock levels
- Proper category and attributes
Listings must not mislead buyers. Describing a machine-made item as "handmade" or a synthetic material as "silk" violates these guidelines.
6. Order Fulfillment
The managed fulfillment model
Ejom operates a managed fulfillment model. You do not ship directly to buyers. Instead:
- When you receive a new order notification, prepare the item
- Mark the item as "Ready for Collection" in your dashboard
- Our team collects the item from you
- We handle international shipping, customs, and delivery
Timeliness
Items must be marked ready for collection within 2 business days of receiving the order. Persistent delays may result in account suspension.
Quality
Items must be delivered in the exact condition represented in your listing. Damaged, defective, or incorrectly described items will be returned at your expense.
7. Pricing and Payments
You set your own prices in your local currency. Ejom converts to USD using the live exchange rate at the time of product creation. The exchange rate is locked for that product until you edit the price.
Payouts are made in USD through your wallet. The minimum withdrawal amount and payout schedule are detailed in your vendor dashboard.
8. Customer Service
Vendors are expected to:
- Respond to Ejom support inquiries within 24 hours
- Cooperate with return and refund requests when valid
- Accept returns for defective or incorrectly described items
9. Reviews and Ratings
Buyers can leave reviews on products. Vendors must not:
- Create fake reviews
- Offer incentives for positive reviews
- Harass or retaliate against buyers who leave negative reviews

10. Account Suspension
Accounts may be suspended or terminated for:
- Violation of these guidelines or our Terms of Service
- Repeated late or failed order fulfillment
- Selling prohibited items
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or harassment
- Unresolved disputes with multiple buyers
11. Intellectual Property
You must own or have permission to use all product images and descriptions you upload. Ejom is not liable for IP infringement caused by vendor listings.
By listing a product, you grant Ejom a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content on our marketplace and marketing channels.
12. Changes to Guidelines
These guidelines may be updated as Ejom grows. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued selling after changes means you accept the updated guidelines.
